Families dug for treasure on Bournemouth Beach last Saturday!

It was part of the Big Bournemouth Treasure Trail, which has seen people hunt for a series of clues around the town centre over the past week. Four clues were buried on the beach, to be added to 16 located in the town.

Organiser Steve Mason said: “This part of the Big Bournemouth Treasure Trail is really to get people engaged with the idea that Bournemouth began 200 years ago as a smugglers’ haunt and lots of booty was buried all over the place.” The trail is part of a series of family events taking place to mark Bournemouth’s bicentenary.
